L'Aube Étoilée's watch institute

Personal information

Privacy policy

What Aube Géopolitique keeps about its readers, why, and for how long. Updated on 18 October 2026.

1. Who is responsible

Aube Géopolitique is the watch institute of L'Aube Étoilée (Montreal, Quebec, Canada). This policy follows Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. The person in charge of the protection of personal information can be reached at support@aubemail.com, or by mail: L'Aube Étoilée, person in charge of the protection of personal information, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

2. What the site keeps

  • Pages read. To count readings, the site records the page viewed, the page you came from, the start of your browser's identifier and a fingerprint computed from your IP address (not the address itself). These rows are deleted after 13 months.
  • Institute letter. Sign-up goes through AubeSend, L'Aube Étoilée's mailing service, and must be confirmed by email. Every letter has an unsubscribe link.
  • PDF notes. If you give your email address to download a note, it is kept with the note's title. It does not receive the letter unless you sign up and confirm.
  • Server logs. The web server records the IP address, requested page and browser of each visit, for security. These logs are deleted after 15 days at most.

3. Cookies and browser storage

  • aubg_lang: the language you chose, one year.
  • aubg_lead: set after a PDF download so your address is not asked again, one year.
  • A session, only for staff who sign in to the administration.
  • In your browser only: your choice to show or blur war images on the Field page.

No advertising, no ad trackers, no sale or rental of personal information.

4. Services your browser contacts

To display pages, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, the map library from unpkg and the Field page base maps from OpenFreeMap. As with any website, these services receive your IP address.

5. LinkedIn posts

Institute staff may connect the Institute's LinkedIn account to the site to publish its notes. The site then keeps the access token issued by LinkedIn, the account identifier and name, the token expiry date, and the text and address of each post. No information about the site's readers is sent to LinkedIn.

6. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete information about you, or withdraw your consent, by writing to support@aubemail.com. We answer within 30 days. You may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
